Whether its determining the authenticity and provenance of artworks and antiquities or  analysing paints for the presence of lead, EDS and EBSD have a key role to play. Paints used by artists can often have unique characteristics due to the time period and geographical region. With EDS and EBSD these characteristics can be identified and matched like a fingerprint.
