Fast chemical imaging of a granite sample with BEX in SEM

Using the Unity detector in SEM, we see how quickly the BEX technique exposes the chemical and mineralogical composition of a granite sample. To reveal a fuller picture of the sample, in little more than a minute, we capture a 9-field montaged image, using Cartography mode – an analysis that might otherwise take ten or more times longer.
