Shedding Light on Medieval Turkish Pottery

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) large area mapping was used in combination with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) to analyse the chemistry of various pottery glazes from the Kubad- Âbâd palace in Turkey. It was found that individual commission were made for different rooms in the palaces and that different styles, techniques and technology were used to create them, from different groups of tile makers.
