Anthony Hyde graduated with a BSc in Physics and has worked in the field of electron microscopy for the past 33 years, 21 of which have been with Oxford Instruments. He currently works as an EDS product manager, where he helps design, develop and market new EDS software and hardware.

James Sagar is the Business Manager for the Materials Analysis Group at Oxford Instruments. He also takes a lead on Oxford Instruments’ solution development and strategic marketing for the battery industry. James has held several positions within Oxford Instruments over the last 8 years with a focus on several different technologies including electron microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance. Before joining Oxford Instruments, James carried out post graduate research at University College London and a PhD at the University of York, with a focus on developing materials with unusual electron transport properties.

Dr Matt Hiscock is the MAG Head of Product Science at Oxford Instruments and holds an MSci in geology from the University of Bristol and a PhD in geochemistry from the University of Edinburgh. He has also worked in the mining industry in Australia and been involved in the running of an academic SEM facility. He joined Oxford Instruments NanoAnalysis in 2013 and works with customers across a wide range of applications to understand their needs and how Oxford Instruments products can address them, as well as overseeing the development of products designed for specific applications and industries, particularly in the field of feature analysis.

Dr. Philippe Pinard graduated with a PhD in Engineering from the RWTH Aachen in Germany. He joined Oxford Instruments in 2016 and has always worked with a strong focus in electron microscopy and microanalysis. Philippe has focused his research on EDS, WDS and EBSD, in particular the development and improvement of these analytical techniques. He is currently working as a Microanalysis Technologist within the Research team.

Dr Simon Burgess graduated with a PhD from Edinburgh University. He joined Oxford Instruments in 1997 and has always worked with a strong focus in product management and development. Simon has focused his research on the development of EDS and WDS systems, in particular hardware such as large area SDD and Extreme ultra-high sensitivity detectors. He is currently working as a business manager for EDS and WDS within the product marketing team.
