Improving battery manufacturing & design

As battery technology is pushed further to the edge: we require more reliable, durable, long lasting batteries. In order to achieve that, battery materials have to be of high purity levels. However, high purity can be compromised at any stage of the production process by contaminants accidentally being introduced. In addition, operating (cycling) batteries causes electrode chemistry, structure and electrolyte composition to change (degrade). By understanding the mechanisms that induce these phenomena, battery design can be improved.

Our portfolio is a collection of application notes detailing Oxford Instruments solutions and how they have been used to help improve battery performance.

By downloading this portfolio, you will discover how to:

  • Perform chemical & structural analysis of electrodes and separators
  • Analyse electrolyte composition and improve electrolyte design
  • Determine electrochemical strain & electrical double layer properties
